During the work that began in the summer of 2015 and was completed the following late fall, the worn asbestos cement roof tiles were removed, and the attic floor was cleared of accumulated debris. Damaged rafters and parts of the roof structure were restored through prosthetic repair. Missing purlins and tie beam connections were added where the integrity of the roof framework had been compromised, and the roof was aligned. A base layer of boarding and a two-layer roofing felt cover were installed. Under the valleys, flashing was placed at the base, and in the valleys and along the roof edges, the layers of roofing felt were additionally secured with bitumen mastic, along with nailing. After some delay due to supply issues, the final covering was installed: small-format (400 × 400 mm) smooth-surfaced dark gray asbestos cement tiles from UAB Eternit Baltic, laid in a diamond pattern. At the same time, the chimney tops and eaves boxes were repaired, and the facades received a new whitewash coating. (Nele Rent, 2017)
